Postnatal
AHAR
● Timely & homecooked meals are very important.
● Legumes, milk, and green leafy vegetables are advisable for breastfeeding.
● Iron-rich foods like dates, figs, tamarind, and jaggery are to be taken regularly.
● Avoidsheeta inducing foods during breastfeeding
● Dryfruits, nuts and seeds are to be consumed as snacks to regain strength.
● Eating foods that are oily, soupy and hot, withmore vegetables, grains and stews are advisable.
● Immunity building foods like drumstick, yogurt, and sweet potato can be regularly.
ACHAR
● Hotbaths and abhyanga/dhara/herbal steam with essential oils are to be done daily to relieve the strained muscles.
● Donotstart exercising right away to lose the gained weight. Plenty of rest, and sleep is advisable.
● Exposure to mild sunlight during early evenings is necessary for both the mother and the baby.
● Low impact exercises and slow yoga along with regular routine activities can be practiced.
● Belly wrapping is to be done to avoid a loose stomach.
● The body should be kept warm throughout to avoid the imbalance of vata
Vihar and Vichar
The postnatal stage is the phase where a woman's body starts fixing the changes it has gone through in the last 9-10 months.
The women also try to get back to their normal body structure as soon as possible.
This can be done efficiently through post natal yogas.
